Description
Perilla ( Perilla frutescens), auch Shiso oder Schwarznessel genannt, gehört zur Familie der Lippenblütler (Lamiaceae). Die Blätter und Samen werden zu Würz- und Heilzwecken genutzt. Der Rohfettgehalt liegt bei über 40%, es enthält einen sehr hohen Prozentsatz an mehrfach ungesättigten Fettsäuren. Die hellen Perillasamen stammen von grünblättrigen Pflanzen, die braunen der rotblättrigen Zuchtform. Wichtiger Bestandteil aller Zeisig-, Girlitz-, und Waldvogelmischungen. Wird auch von vielen Sitticharten sehr gerne gefressen.
