Ornamental birds kept singly often show an excessive sex drive. The males want to feed the breeding females, the females want to feed the young as a result of the stimulated desire to breed. Parrots and parakeets are by far the most frequently affected group of birds.
Feeding takes place with pre-digested grains in the crop, which are regurgitated with the crop mucus. If this excessive feeding instinct lasts longer than usual (more than 10 days, for example), the irritation of the crop mucosa should be counteracted. SC 10 - breeding behaviour - has a calming and healing effect on the crop mucosa and counteracts the feeding instinct.
Female canaries and parakeets that are kept alone lay unfertilised eggs from time to time, which the bird owner usually removes immediately. However, this inevitably causes the bird to "lay more" in order to produce a complete clutch. However, frequent egg-laying leads to depletion of the mineral deposits, in particular to calcification of the skeleton. SC 10 - breeding behaviour - counteracts these hormonal dysfunctions by influencing the ovaries and reduces laying behaviour.
SC 10 can easily be administered over a longer period of time to achieve the desired effect.
